About
Falcon Publishing
The
company was formed in 2001 to provide services that allow authors to publish
their own books. Recognizing that the publishing industry has increasingly
become the target of mergers, conglomerates and "bottom line" emphasis
in the last two decades, many aspiring authors find their works rejected
from the normal publishing cycle. This stems from a host of perceived
problems which may have nothing to do with the quality of the writing
such as; lack of author notoriety, cover design, even subject matter.
As a result, publishers have narrowed their fields of interest, are reluctant
to accept material for review from first-time authors, and some have become
unwilling to accept material not represented by an established agent.
In today's environment, it has become a major effort and certainly a formidable
accomplishment just to get new material reviewed.
An
alternative solution is assisted self publishing, as provided by Falcon
Publishing. It is certainly viable as demonstrated by a history of successful
books but the roadside is littered with those who attempted it without
the proper research and funding. And in most cases, writers prefer to
write, and have little interest in production, marketing, distribution,
and sales.
Falcon
Publishing's first efforts are in publishing the works of David L. Fey,
one of the partners in the company. They include reprinting his novel
Whitetail, originally published in 1995, production of the musical
CD "Mother Lode" and the publication of David's second thriller
Catspaw.
Phase
two includes a shopping cart of publication services offered by Falcon
Publishing Ltd. as part of the ongoing business plan.
